Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1: Arusha gardens and briefing

    Arrive and begin gently around lodge grounds where sunbirds, weavers and other garden species provide an introduction. Review target groups and preferred pace with your guide.

  2. Day 2: Arusha National Park

    Explore montane forest, Momella lakes and open glades. The habitat change supports waterbirds, forest species and raptors, with giraffe and colobus adding wider wildlife interest.

  3. Days 3-4: Tarangire National Park

    Spend two days among baobab woodland, riverine vegetation and seasonal wetlands. Slow drives make time for hornbills, parrots, coursers, raptors and dry-country specialists.

  4. Day 5: Lake Manyara

    Work the groundwater forest and lake-edge habitats according to water levels and access. Continue to Karatu with optional birding in lodge gardens before dusk.

  5. Day 6: Ngorongoro highlands

    Visit accessible highland forest and farming-edge habitats with a local guide where arranged. The cooler elevation creates a different species mix from the parks below.

  6. Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater

    Descend early for grassland birds, waterbirds and birds of prey alongside the crater’s well-known mammals. Return to the rim or continue toward Serengeti.

  7. Days 8-9: Serengeti plains

    Explore kopjes, river valleys and open grassland over two days. Bustards, secretarybirds, vultures and eagles share the landscape with big cats and migrating herbivores.

  8. Day 10: Final birding and Arusha

    Use the morning for a last focused drive, then connect by scheduled flight or road. The final species list can be reviewed with your guide before departure.
