Tarangire National Park
Tarangire is elephant country shaped by an important river system and an unmistakable baobab landscape. It is close enough to Arusha for a first safari day, yet deserves more than a rushed drive-through.
Why Tarangire belongs in the route
Elephant families, varied habitats and quieter tracks can make Tarangire a strong beginning or ending to a northern circuit. Wildlife patterns change with rainfall and water availability.
One day or two
A full day gives a good introduction. Two nights create room to explore beyond the busiest northern tracks and enjoy the park at a gentler pace.
Easy northern connections
Tarangire links naturally with Karatu, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara, helping reduce backtracking when the itinerary is planned as one connected route.
