Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1: Arusha welcome

Arrive, rest and receive an honest migration briefing. River crossings are natural events with unpredictable timing, so the plan prioritises a complete safari rather than one promised moment.

  2. Day 2: Fly to central Serengeti

Take a scheduled bush flight and meet your private guide. Explore the central valleys and kopjes, an excellent wildlife area regardless of where the main migration herds are located.

  3. Day 3: Central to northern Serengeti

Game drive north through changing plains and woodland. Wildlife stops shape the day, with arrival near the Mara River area by late afternoon.

  4. Days 4-5: Northern Serengeti

Two full days allow patient positioning around current herd locations. Your guide may carry breakfast and lunch so promising activity is not abandoned to follow a rigid camp schedule.

  5. Day 6: Northern plains to central Serengeti

Search a different northern sector in the morning, then work south through the ecosystem. Alternatively, remain north if fresh conditions make that the stronger choice.

  6. Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Enjoy sunrise on the plains and travel toward the Ngorongoro highlands, stopping for wildlife and a picnic before a quieter evening near the crater.

  7. Day 8: Crater and onward

Descend early to explore the crater floor, then return to Arusha. A fly-out variation can shorten road time when your onward plans favour it.
