Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1: Fly to Kigoma

    Connect to Kigoma and transfer to your hotel. Meet the local team to review boat timing, park formalities, luggage limits and the physical nature of forest trekking.

  2. Day 2: Boat to Gombe

    Travel along Lake Tanganyika to Gombe and settle into the park-area accommodation. Take an introductory forest or shoreline walk if timing and park arrangements allow.

  3. Days 3-4: Chimpanzee trekking

    Join park guides on forest trails to look for habituated chimpanzees. Trek length and terrain depend entirely on the chimpanzees’ location; other primates, birds and forest detail enrich the search.

  4. Day 5: Gombe to Kigoma

    Use the morning for a final permitted activity, then return by boat to Kigoma. Visit a local historical site or enjoy the lakeside according to arrival time.

  5. Day 6: Kigoma departure

    Transfer to the airport for the scheduled flight east. Indigo builds buffer time around domestic connections rather than promising risky same-day international transfers.
