Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day 1: Momella Gate to Miriakamba

   Walk through forest and open glades with an armed park ranger.

2. Day 2: Miriakamba to Saddle Hut

   Climb the ridge and add an optional Little Meru acclimatisation walk.

3. Day 3: Socialist Peak

   Start before dawn, traverse the crater rim and descend to Miriakamba.

4. Day 4: Return to Momella

   Finish through the park and drive the short distance back to Arusha.
